The Torch
Took over Union Square May 18, 2008

Survivors, friends, family and others came together to celebrate healing and recovery from sexual violence. The festival featured music, performances, dancers, spoken word, inspirational speakers, and more. The annual event, now in its 5th year, is sponsored by the New York City Alliance Against Sexual Assault in association with Midnight Kitchen Media. [Read more.]

Technical Assistance

The Training Department offers technical assistance and program development support to all hospitals interested in raising the level of care provided to victims of sexual assault in their facilities, from reviewing policies and procedures to ensure the minimum required services are being provided to assisting with the formal development of a Sexual Assault Forensic Examiner program.

In addition, the Operations, Standards and Training Committee provides a unique forum for established sexual assault forensic examiner programs to discuss issues such as program development, data collection and program evaluation, identify training needs, collaborate on best practice guidelines for city programs, and problem solve.
