FACTSHEET:
Right to Privacy Legislation

Many states have laws to protect the confidentiality of victims of crime. Confidentiality laws exist to encourage the reporting of offenses, and to prevent the re-victimization of the crime victim through publicity, unwarranted intrusion upon the victim's privacy, and insensitive treatment by the media. To find out what confidentiality rights exist in your state, visit your local law library or contact your state Attorney General or state legislator.

Searching for Angela Shelton

Filmmaker Angela Shelton went on a journey around the United States meeting other Angela Sheltons in an effort to survey women in America. What she wasn't prepared for was learning that like herself, 24 out of the 40 Angela Sheltons she spoke to had been victims of rape, domestic violence or child molestation. When the filmmaker finds an Angela Shelton who tracks sexual predators and lives in the same town as the filmmaker's father the film becomes a very personal journey. This multi-award winning documentary has started a grassroots movement of healing for survivors of abuse of all genders. It is truly an honor to have Ms. Shelton join us in NYC to share her film.

Two or Three Things But Nothing For Sure

Set against a harsh backdrop of the poor, white American South of the 1950s, this film is the ocndensed story of critically acclaimed author Dorothy Allison. Interweaving evocative imagery with powerful performance footage, Two or Three Things explores Allison's life, from the oppression of poverty and childhood abuse to a place where she has created her own family and has broken a cycle of violence. We are thrilled to be joined by award-winning directors Jane C. Wagner and Tina DiFelciantonio's, founders of Naked Eye Productions Ltd.

Take It Or Leave It?

This short film from emerging NYC filmmaker and playwright J. P. Chan tells the story of one woman's preparation as she arms herself for the gruesome world of urban dating. Winner of the Director's Citation, 2006 Black Maria Film Festival, we are excited to introduce Mr. Chan and his film at its first New York screening.
