The New York City Alliance Against Sexual Assault, a non-profit agency that provides advocacy, education and research, seeks a writer/communications associate to assist with  communications needs.  Communication plays a critical role in the Alliance’s efforts to increase awareness about sexual violence in NYC and to rally support for our work. As such, responsibilities will include:

• Writing newsletters to a variety of audiences;
• Overseeing production and dissemination of newsletter;
• Ensuring that Alliance website content is up-to-date
• Writing website content, www.nycagainstrape.org
• Writing development and other materials
• Report dissemination via mail, listserves, etc.
• Ensuring that Alliance database is up-to-date
• Working with communications firm on public relations matters
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Bachelors degree and at least five years experience in a related field. The writer/communications associate will preferably be familiar with sexual violence issues, possess excellent writing skills, be flexible and able to work under pressure and a deadline.   

Salary

Consultant rate commensurate with experience, an average of five hours per week based on organizational activity.
