Program: Staten Island Rape Crisis Program
Description:
Come join us for Staten Island SAY SO! (Sexual Assault Yearly Speak Out!)
THURSDAY JULY 31st 2008
5:30pm – 9:30pm @ The CROMWELL RECREATIONAL CENTER
We are looking for New Yorkers to share their stories of healing and recovery as survivors, activists, allies, or rape crisis advocates.
We are looking for ACTS OF CREATIVITY, from live Music & Dance to Poetry & Spoken Word, skits and anything else we haven’t thought of yet…we have time slots available from 5:30-9:30pm.
The theme of this year’s SAY SO! is a celebration of healing and recovery from sexual violence. To accomplish this, SAY SO! will be set up like a festival with many experiential activities available for attendees to participate in. The activities will be illuminating, educational, participatory and fun! These activities will include storytelling, art, performance, activities that ritualize the process of letting go, activism and giveaways.
